Ontario Drive and Gear - New Hamburg
In 2000 Nith Valley Construction was hired, on a Bid/Spec basis, to build a new 34,000sf facility for ODG. This building housed a two-storey office component plus plant area.
In 2007 we were approached by ODG to construct a 16,700sf addition to that building and suggested using the Construction Management method which was utilized. We worked closely with the design team to establish working drawings and secure the required approvals and permits.
This machine shop/manufacturing addition was constructed with no disruption to existing operations as the current plant was still in operation. All this was done while maintaining a very tight schedule.
The construction of this project consisted of:
- Concrete foundations
- 10” thick reinforced floor suitable to allow flexibility of machine locations
- Masonry infill walls and office
- Structural steel frame reinforced for crane rails
- Insulated metal siding
- Electrical/mechanical work
