Steinmann Mennonite Church - addition - back left

This Construction Management project consisted of a 16,000sf addition and renovation to the existing church facility. The new addition featured a 5500sf gymnasium (21’ clear height).  Work included significant renovations to the existing offices, classrooms, and amenity spaces. Work also included major parking expansion and storm water management facilities. The existing church building was in use throughout the entire expansion, therefore coordination of work and safety provisions were needed.

The construction consisted of:

  • 4’ typical concrete foundations with 10’ deep partial basement
  • concrete slab on grade with suspended concrete floor slab over basement
  • load bearing masonry cavity walls with brick veneer and stucco
  • steel open web roof joists, steel roof deck
  • rework and reinforce existing wood structure at tie in locations
  • PVC single ply membrane roofing for majority of addition
  • New commercial kitchen facility
  • Combination of masonry and steel stud interior partitions, painted finish throughout
  • Electric powered operable walls in gymnasium
  • Carpet, ceramic and vinyl flooring
  • Packaged heating/cooling roof top units with energy recovery ventilators
  • electrical systems (power, lighting, fire alarm, CATV, telephone)
