This project consisted of converting a loading dock and storage facility, once used for Weston Bakery, into a hi tech research and development facility.  The project started with the shoring of the existing roof system and lowering of the existing floor creating an additional 8,000sf of 2nd floor space bringing total area of finished area to 33,500sf. The final building contained some of the highest level of finishes found in today’s construction.  Although LEED certification was not sought after, the principles of environmentally friendly construction were maintained throughout the design & construction phase of the project.

The construction consisted of:

  • Concrete footings and foundations
  • Exterior aluminum curtain wall, natural limestone, aluminum composite panels
  • The interior was reinforced structural steel, concrete slab on grade and deck
  • A 6” raised floor to accommodate the approximate 8,000 home runs of computer cabling
  • Modular wall systems
  • Modular furniture systems
  • Many high end finishes, including plastic and aluminum panels
  • Numerous types of suspended acoustical ceilings and treatments
  • The latest in electronic visual technology
  • Complete re-grading of site and new asphalt parking lots
