Out of region bidders on local projects.

3 questions are being asked by the local companies:

  1. Where did all these bidders come from?
  2. How can the price be so low?
  3. What can be done to compete?

You can't have all three because there are costs associated with quality and costs associated with excellent service.  The advice is to stay focused on what your core competencies are - and if you don't know what those are, spend some time to figure it out. Then lean on them heavily. This means understanding your business model.
